Anna Silk was born in Fredericton as the child of Peter Silk, an academic and Ilkay Silk, who is an actor director, producer, playwright, educator, as well as Director of Drama at St. Thomas University. Anna Silk's dad is from Britain and her mother, an Turkish Cypriot English expat. She remembers watching her mother working in rehearsals for plays. In her early years, Anna appeared on several commercials on television. Anna was transferred to Toronto in November 1999 to further her acting career. After that, she settled in Los Angeles (California) over the next decade. Seth Cooperman, whom she met at a Los Angeles actors' workshop back in 2007, became her husband in 2009. Anna changed her religion to Judaism in January 2011 and they renewed their vows during the Jewish wedding in Fredericton.
