Zoe Saldana (born June 19, 1978) was born to Asalia Saldana & Aridio Saldana, who reside in Passaic New Jersey. Both her parents have both been Puerto Ricans. She was raised by her mother in Queens. When she was 10 years old, she and her parents moved to Dominican Republic. They lived in the Dominican Republic for seven more years. As they remained in the country, Zoe discovered a keen interest in performance dance and started her studies at the prestigious ECOS Espacio de Danza Dance Academy where she studied ballet, as well as various other forms of dance. The training she received was not just an ideal outlet for this energetic and enthusiastic youngster but also a good training for her future acting career.
